Storms

Despite the storms in life I have been able to get things accomplished that I have wanted to do.
I have a good start on my garden. I'm trying my hand at growing corn again this year! The tomatoes, beets, spinich, two kinds of lettuce and the peppers are in.This weekends rain will not dampen my spirits as I have some mini green houses to plant seeds in. Those plants will be set out into the garden a little bit later in the season.

The past two weeks I have not felt well and so I finally went into the doctor. She ran some tests to see if she could find out what was going on. The good news is that I have a bacterial infection, somewhere in my body but at least it isn't cancer and it can be cured with antibiotics.
So I am on Amoxicillan for 10 days. I've been on it for 3 days and I am starting to feel better. I didn't have a cold or a sore throat or even a fever but I lost my voice for a short while. I have developed a cough but that is okay too as if the infection was in my lungs they need to clean out so I am doing good. I am looking forward to being able to go to church this weekend as it has been close to a month now that I have not been in my home branch. We are having branch conference this weekend and so it will be great!

The rains have arrived! I can hear it beating on the roof. My crops and the birds are loving it.
I'm going into town to pay bills.

Yesterday was absolutely goregeous outside; sunny and warm without the high wind! I spent a good portion of the day outside cleaning the riding mower, pulling down grape vines from the Lilac bushes and wacking away on the brush that has sprung up over the years. I made good progress but discovered that the riding mower is in need of more trouble shooting. Something in the electrical circuit this time. Dad/ Brian will have to look at it and see what he can figure out.
I brought Beatrice home with me so that she could relax and unwind from all her problems for a while because her stress levels are out the roof. She decided that she wanted to help with some of the stuff so she went down below the hill and started wacking away at the Sumac. She worked a long time on it and made good progress too. This morning she is wore out. She admitted to me yesterday that she is not use to doing that much work.

Today is suppose to be another beautiful day and I am going to take full advantage of it! It is suppose to cloud up and start raining again tonight and tomorrow so thee is not much time to lose. I am going to go in and visit with Dad though as I have not seen him since Sunday. I would have visited with him last night but by the time I got finished with my day I was blacker than the ace of spades. That mower gets gross in one season.

Garrett and Yukiko's Wedding

Brian and I went to Garrett and Yukiko's wedding on April 29th. The weather was fairly mild and pleasant.
Their wedding was held in a conference room at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on the river front in St. Paul. It wasn't decorated fancy but it was nice. The reception/ dance was held on the 22nd floor and over looked the Mississippi River and Harriet Island. While we were waiting for our meal we were graced by a Bald Eagle soaring by the windows. It was absolutely breathtaking to see it up so close and to see just how big of a bird they are.

After dinner we watched Garrett and Yukiko dance togeather. They had taken dance lessons and it showed in how graceful and well timed their movements were. Yukiko danced with her father and Garrett danced with his mom. Then the wedding party all got out and did a dance together. I did not recognize the song but it was a very entergetic one and it set the night going.

Brian and I left shortly after as I had to be to work this morning at 8 AM.
It was a very pleasant evening, not only for the very special occassion but also because I got to see Tom. Bridget and Ethan.
