We studied the Parables that Jesus taught today in Sunday school. There are parts of them that struck a chord within me.
First- no one else ( not even dad)is responsible for my eternal/ spiritual progression (Parable of the 10 Virgins) It is my responcibility to make sure that my lamp is well trimmed and that I am prepared when the bridegroom comes.
Second- The Paprable of the Talents- Heavenly Father has blessed us with special gifts/ talents. He expects us to use them and expand on them. I have always understood this parable as a parable of stewardship but today I gained a better understanding of it. I really need to work on this one.
The messages delivered in Sacrament Meeting spoke directly to my heart today as well.
The message for today: I need to press forward and improve myself.
