Another winter storm is brewing. This one is coming in from the West and is bringing bitter cold weather, rain, ice, and eventually snow. We have been blessed with warm weather this past two days and it has been bliss. It has allowed us to prepare for the storm and we are ready. So for the next two to three days we will cuddle up in our home and stay as warm as possible. I walked around the outside of the property this afternoon, while it was raining, sounds dumb I know but I just wanted to get one last glimpse of it before it gets buried in the snow. I wanted to hear the sound of the pavement under my feet and not have to worry about slipping on snow pack or ice. It was time to say good- night to mother earth and let her rest for a season.
I feel sorry for those people that are without a place to call home; a place where they can go to weather out the storms in life, both the natural and the man- made. How blessed we are to have called this place home for the past 25 years. I have dreams and hopes for this place. Things that I would like to do with it. As I walked around the property, I thought of how I would still like to put up fence lines and have sheep, goats and steers out here. I want to fix up the barn and the shed. Will it all remain a dream or will there come hope in the spring? I love this land but it does not belong to me, it is only on loan from Heavenly Father. For now we wait to see what His plans are for us.
