Snowbound

This past weekend was my weekend to work but first I was invited to a staff Christmas party that our supervisor puts on each year. We all had a good time but there were some of us that had to leave for work and I was one of them.

I got to work an hour and a half before I needed to be there so that I could take a nap. I got that under my belt and was up when the ladies got home from work. I was working the 2:45 - 11 PM shift. During my shift we were suppose to start getting snow and sure enough it let go around 9PM.
I had to be back to work by 2PM on Saturday and because the snow was suppose to continue until noon on Saturday and the winds were going to pick up I knew that if I got back home I would not be able to get back into work on Saturday so I spent the night. Around 2 AM Saturday morning I woke up with nausea and diarrhea. I felt lousy all day Saturday but was there for my shift. I worked until 11 PM but by then the roads were treacherous and Brian said that the snow plows had been pulled off the roads. We were having a blizzard and so I stayed the night at work again.
The lady that was scheduled to come into work this morning at 8 called and asked if I could swap hours with her. Since I wasn't going anyplace- our driveway was drifted in- I told her that I would. Church was canceled due to the storm so Brian spent all morning and part of the after noon clearing out our driveway so that I could come home after my shift was done. I got home at 4:30 and it feels soooo good but I am very tired. I am feeling much better today so it must have only been a 24 hour bug. Thank goodness because I don't want anything to ruin this next two weeks. I'm going to be with my children and their families. It just doesn't get much better than that!

  1. I'm sorry you were sick - and sorry about all the snow at the same time! But, we're so excited to see you!!!!
