Surgery day approaching

I found out today that I will be having surgery to hopefully reconnect my bowel on November 3rd. I saw the doctor on Monday and he said that it is looking good. That being said he told me that in the past it has happened that he has had a patient on the table and opened up for a reconnect only to discover another abcess. I pray that that doesn't happen because it would mean that I would have to have another colostomy. Not the end of the world but it would definitely bum me out.
