Cash for this clunker

Today I have spent the entire day in Litchfield with my dad and siblings. Brian had to take me in this morning before he left for work as my cars exhaust system has given up the battle with the rust. If I were to drive it into town I would likely get a ticket for the noise and be given a fix-it ticket for sure. I've thought about turning in in on the "cash for clunkers" program but I do not want to go into any more debt. Although having a reliable car sure sounds good the payments on a new one pretty much crushes the desire and when you add in the insurance on it , well let's just say that puts the nail in the coffin of the whole idea.
On his way out to church tonight I told Brian that he could trade me in for a newer model but I'm not sure how much cash he would get for this ole clunker. I have so many things that I would love to get done but I have no energy left to do any of it and it all requires heavy lifting and man handeling the tiller. I pulled up almost all of my Iris' and still do not have them in a proper bed. I just need to keep moving.

I got a surprise from the Red Star Yeast Company in todays mail!
They sent me an apron with the saying, "I knead to be louved" on it!
The letter said that I was receiving it because I got the Grand CHampion ribbon in the Yeast Bread Class. I love the apron but I sure would not have minded a years supply of Yeast! It is a wonderful gift though and I am happy to have received it.

I am going to perfect those Popovers this year! Tha is my goal in baking! Sounds simple but so far it has been a challenge to obtain exactly what I want. I have the eggs so that is not an issue.

I've been looking at the possibility of selling the chickens and perhaps even the geese before winter. I can not stand to think of them being out in the cold but I can not afford to heat that barn either so reality says to just get rid of them. They have been enjoyed by many people so it will be hard to let them go but it sure will be easier than butchering them.

  1. Just so you know, I wouldn't trade you in for anything. We're so lucky to have you, even if you can't do everything you wish you could - that's what comes with old age, isn't it?
