Good News!
There are many benefits to having a computer but the biggest one at the moment is that the keyboard makes a wonderful trap for little things, like the screw from my glasses! I went looking for the screw and spotted it between the g and h keys. I knew that Dad had a eye repair kit so I went looking for that and guessed where he kept it right off the bat- Good thing he can be predictable sometimes! I love him for that. He isn't as spontaneous as I am and so it makes it easier to keep track of what he does with things. My brain is scattered and some times I will put things away for safe keeping and the only one it is safe from is me. So I have a headache now but it will go away soon, I hope. As for my Dad's 94th birthday! It went well and he sure was happy. A guy that he worked with nbetween fifty and sixty years ago showed up to wish dad well. Dad just barely remembered him but once he recognized who he was he remembered some of the good times they had working togeather. Our cousin, Lavonne, aka Sissy, drove over from Waverly to see Dad. She is an absolute joy to be around and lights up the room whenever she comes in. Her and I have always got along real well and we always have a blast when we are togeather. The only ones that did not show up for the party were Tom and Bob. Both had good excuses. Tom of course lives out in Washington and Bob is up fighting the flood waters in the Fargo - Moorehead areas. The company he works for has heavy equipment and they are in Moorehead so every year they help build the levy's and work to keep the river at bay. The river should be cresting soon so he should be able to get some much needed rest. Tom and Ethan, Jason's look -a- like are coming home for Garrett and Yukiko's wedding so Dad will be able to see them soon. I have pictures of Grandpa and will try to download them in an e-mail. Until then- My dryer has stopped and the first load of laundry is waiting to be put away. Have a great day!

I'm glad the party was fun. Happy Birthday Grandpa!
ReplyDeleteI always remember you talking about your cousin Sissy, but I don't think I ever really met her. I know she was around at family reunions, but I was just a kid, I guess. I didn't know you still get along so well. I wonder why not, if she's there in MN?
