Bitter-Sweet Day

It is going to be a bitter sweet day for us today. We still have Jordan and Melia with us but Brian will be returning them to Madison later this morning. We have had a great week and it has been a thrill to spend time with our grandchildren! Thank you Melinda for sharing your family with us! That has been a big sacrifice on your part. I am sure that you are excited about getting them home again.

Jordan and Melia have been busy watching over/playing with the geese ,chickens and cats. They both have been a big help around the house and farm! We've fixed the meals, baked , cooked and cleaned together. Grandpa and Jordan made a dump run and took junked car parts and tires to the junk yard.
It hasn't been all work though! We've gone to Collinwood to play on the ripline, we went into Litchfield to watch the Watercade parade, and have gone down to the wild life park on the Crow River in Hutchinson. We visited with their Great-Grandfather Lundgren, their Great-Great Aunt's Eleanor and Jo and their Great-Great Uncle Kenny, Jo's husband and Eleanor's half- brother. Because I had classes for work they got to spend some time with their Great Aunt Cecilia. They spent their time watching Animal Planet with her and had a wonderful time.
We've had a cook out and have roasted marshmallow's for dessert. We had a family home evening with Delora Hilmanowski and her grandson, Humberto. They also went with us to the Wildlife Park and walked with us around the park.
Grandpa climbed up the climbing structure with them in a game of Cat and Rat. I didn't know he could move that fast any more!
Melia and I made some Bannana Bread and a Lime Angel Food Cake.
Both of those went fast!
It has been a wonderful week filled with laughter and chatter and good memories which we will cherish! It is hard to let them go but I know mom must miss them terribly and will be oh so happy to see them again. They have been a delight to be with this week! Thank you so much for sharing them with us Melinda! You are doing an amazing job raising your family and Dad and I are so very proud of you!
