Brian and I have had the opportunity to have Jordan and Melia with us this week for a visit. They are good kids and are a joy to have visit us.
Brian went down to Madison to pick them up on Friday night. I had class so I wasn't able to go with but it worked out well as I was able to get the shopping completed , the house straightened up, and supper made before they got here. Then it was off to the Watercade Parade in Litchfield. It was way smaller this year than most but I believe the economy has really put a damper on luxuries like parades. We sat with the Steiner's to watch the parade and then came home. Jordan and Melia had a great time playing with the chickens, geese and cats.
Grandpa had a round of Chess with Jordan. Melia and I putzed in the kitchen.
Sunday we went to church as usual and came home, had a bite to eat and then took naps. After our naps were done we went in to Litchfield to visit with Great- Grandpa Lundgren. He was happy to see us and soon Cecilia and Beatrice showed up. We had a good time.
Sunday evening we had a cook out. The food was simple and good. After supper we had a marshmallow roast. Melia loves charred Marshmallows!
Monday I had class from 9 until noon so we were up early and had a breakfast of Raspberry Crepe's . We got the chores completed and went into Litchfield. Cecilia was making Watermelon Pickles and needed to go to the store for some supplies so I ran her to the store before heading to class. Jordan and Melia spent time with Cecilia while I was at class and they had a good time. After class we came home and had ourselves some BLT sandwiches. They were fantastic!
Then it was time to do the dished and prepare the evening meal. Delora Hilmanowski and her grandson, Humberto, came over to join us for supper and then Delora showed us how to access a special website and navigate around it. Jordan, Melia and Humberto played outside with the critters and enjoyed each other's company. It was a delight to see them get along so well and interact with each other like they had been the best of friends for many years. It was a very positive expirience for all and so we have set up some time on Thursday for them to get together again.
This morning at 10 we are going to go into Litchfield to visit with Eleanor and her brother Kenny and his wife Jo. Kenny and Jo live in Arizona but come back to Minnesota during the summer to visit with family and friends. I am going to call Farm Bureau this morning to see if they need me to come in but I am secretly hoping that they will not need me today as I want to spend as much time with Jordan and Melia as I can. It is raining outside so they will have to be inside until the weather clears up.
Tomorrow Brian is going to take some vacation time so that we can go and enjoy spending the whole day with Jordan and Melia. I am not sure yet what the plans will be other than a trip to the temple tomorrow night.
Thursday is more class time for me. We will be starting at 8:45 and will go until noon. At 1:45 I have care conferences for my dad at the nursing home so I will pack a picnic lunch for the kids and I. When we are done in Litchfield we are going to go spend time with Delora and Humberto. Perhaps we will visit some different places of interest down in Hutchinson.
Some time on Friday Brian will have to take Jordan and Melia back home to Madison. I am really going to miss them! I sure wish that we could all live closer together. It is hard to have to say those good- byes and not know when we will be able to see each other.
Friday night I start my first 4-11 shift. I hope that all will go well.
It is nearing 8 Am and I have things to get done before going into Litchfield so I need to get moving.
Have a great day!
