The Windows of Heaven

The Windows opened wide and the blessings poured forth today.
It was warm enough so that we actually got rain for a while. It gave Brian and I time to get the barn cleaned out and allowed the geese time to groom themselves in the rain. They sure needed it! I haven't been able to keep their pen clean and dry but that will change soon. I just need to be patient and allow time for my incisions to completely heal. Dr. Peterson still has me on lifting restrictions and when I asked about cleaning the barn he told me no as he doesn't want me to herniate through the abdominal wall.
While we were out in the barn I heard someone talking and so I went out to take a peek to see if some one was here. It was the mail man.
He left his car up at the end of the driveway and was half walking and half skating down our driveway with a box and our mail in his arms.

Brian made it to the house before me and took the mail and the box into the house. When I got into the house he told me that the box was from my oldest son, Steve and his wife,Diane. Inside was a letter from Steve, I think it is the first one that I have ever received from him! He expressed their love and concern for me and how they had tried to figure out how to give me their love and support from so far away. Steve sent the propane company some money to make sure that we had fuel in the tank to heat our home and Diane made me a very warm and cheerful quilt. On one side it is a sunny yellow and on the other it is blue with red ladybugs and white daisies. She knows I love nature. It will help me look forward to the days ahead when I will be able to be free of this cancer and once again be able to be outside and enjoy all that God has created.

This is the second quilt that I have received from my wonderful daughter -in-laws. They are more precious to me than any gem. I love them all so much. How blessed we are to have them in our family. How grateful I am that Heavenly Father blessed Brian and me with our own children and now grandchildren as well. The blessings of Heaven rained abundantly upon us this day!
Melinda, Steven, Christopher, Jason and Andy- How grateful I am to be your mom! You are truly a blessing! Thank you for all your love and support. Please give your families a big hug for me! I love you all . Mom

  2. Hi Mom! I'm glad you got it so fast. And yes, Kiley, I was a little alarmed to learn you had already sent one, but I decided two would be better than one! Great minds think alike, I guess. Love you both!
