It has been a long time since I last went fishing- so long in fact that I could not even remember how to tie a hook onto the line. It isn't that I don't enjoy fishing it is that I lost my fishing partners! I use to go fishing with my children when they were younger but as they grew I got replaced by other fishing buddies. I quietly put away my gear and there it stayed until I ran across it earlier this spring.
I talked to my sister about finding my gear and we shared fond memories of our fishing days. She lost her fishing partner about four or five years ago and she too had put her gear away. We both kind of decided that it would be a good thing to pull out our gear once again and go try our luck at fishing.
Our first day out we almost came home empty handed. Had it not been for two young men that offered us some of the fish that they were catching we would have gone home empty handed.
I find it amazing that you can be fishing in the same area and two people can be pulling in the fish like crazy but my sister and I could not even get a nibble on our lines. It must have been the differences in the bait/ tackle that we were using. Anyway, on Friday night we had a wonderful fish supper! MMMM they were good!
