On the home stretch

This week has been a busy one but it is almost to an end. Yesterday would have been my normal service day but since I was with Eleanor most of the day on Wednesday I decided to use that one as my service day and use yesterday as a day to get caught up on work around the farm.
After Brian left for work I decided it was time to get going on a fencing project that was way past due. The hens had long cleared their yard of anything green and growing and I think that even the bugs and worms were becoming scarce. So I cut away a bunch of low lying branches from some of the trees behind the barn and extended the fencing to the East and North side of the barn. It took a while for the hens to discover their new run area but they have been loving the new area and will make short work of clearing it.
After the fencing project was done I started in with weeding the garden, which by the way is starting to look pretty nice. The Raspberry bushes were alive and humming with bees, which is a wonderful sight to see. I am really going to get a bountiful harvest of Raspberries this year. Anyone want some Raspberry jelly?
Most of the afternoon was spent in the garden. By the time I called it quits for the day I was pretty wore out. I put the tools away and went inside to prepare supper. I had it ready by the time Dad got home from work and I was more than happy to sit down and rest.
